Laura Durban is a mythopoetic alchemist, initiated Avalon Priestess and Sacred Leadership Mentor who trains professional Cacao Ceremonialists. As a writer she publishes in personal and spiritual growth magazines and on Substack to support others in reclaiming their magic. Laura founded her heart-led business @kakaozauber to help restore enchantment in a society of dissociation, bring integrity to sacred leadership and embody sovereignty through honest and reciprocal connection with self, others and nature. 

Laura graduated as a visual artist and teacher, yet never saw herself in the classroom nor in a gallery, rather sitting in a tree by a river, listening to the timelessness of the moment. She is a writer with a passion for mythology and ceremony. She knows that stories hold the power of transformation through their layers of meaning and cultural development. Laura’s favourite topics are Arthurian legends and Celtic folk and faery tales – not to get lost in fantasy but to find grounded approaches to allow magic to thrive in our modern world – which is the same earth those stories originate from, the same waters are still flowing and therefore connecting us to its sources. Laura mentors space holders, writes about personal transformation and offers an in-depth online Cacao Practitioner Training, alongside courses about the Avalonian Tradition and in-person Retreats. These portals into the realms of the heart and imagination are inspiration and integral values she lives by in her motherhood journey. 

Originally from the Black Forest in South Germany with an ancestry as colourful as her writing, Laura was always drawn to and dreamed of a life in the faery woodlands of the Celtic islands. After being based in Glastonbury (GB) until 2024, Laura and her partner decided to travel with their son until finding their next home to settle in – by a river, obviously.
